KEEPING OF GOOD BUSINESS PRINCIPLES

Keeping of good business principles is of upmost importance.

Being in business is a privilege for any business person and thus the importance of my above statement.

Here I would like to mention a few things that kept me going for the past couple of years.

I ALWAYS trust in God for the wellbeing of my businesses. This can only be done if you are a honest businessman and run your business accordingly.

Never live (spend personal funds) out of a business account. Draw up a personal budget and from there decide on a monthly salary. Pay this salary on a monthly basis to your personal account.By doing this you will make sure you do not overspend company funds.

Keep your hands on your debtors accounts. Most businesses fail because of debtors not paying their accounts. I send out two-weekly statements in order to remind my clients about their outstanding amount. If you are not able to do this, appoint an accountant to assist you.

Make sure you employ the correct workers. Look after your employees. Pay them bonusses if they deserved it. Make sure to register them on UIF.

Do not be stingy with office and computer equipment. You will loose more time and fees by struggle with an old or incomplete computer.

Let you client feel appreciated. I always phone a client on his/her birthday. For any other reason, this keeps me in touch with my client.
