1.  Are you able to apply if you are a start-up company ? 

Yes, you can register if you a start up company, you will then automatically receive a level / grading 1.


2.  How much does it cost? 

It is R900 for our services and an additional R450 for each class that you register for.


3.  How long is grade 1 valid for? 

Grade 1 is valid for 3 years from the registration date.


4.  How does a CIDB registration benefit me? 

You can apply for tenders that require you to be CIDB registered, you also get added on the CIDB database making it easier for tenders to find you instead of you always looking for them.


5.  Who needs to register with the CIDB?  

Any business  (whether an sole proprietor,  partnership,  closed corporation or company) that understakes or carry out any form of construction,  including electrical work.


6.  How do I determine the grading with CICB ? 

You will first apply for a new registration that will give you a grade 1.  After the first year with proven income (as per financial statements) you can apply for a grade 2 - 7, according to the net worth and turnover of the business.
