REQUIREMENTS FOR A TAX INVOICE


Tax invoices can be made out by ways of an accounting program, like Softline Pastel, invoice books from your local stationery shop etc.

In order for a vendor to receive a vat claim for an tax invoice received from a supplier there are a couple of important requirements.

* Invoices needs to be numbered in sequence.

* Name, adress and VAT registration number of the vendor

* Name, adress and VAT registration number of the receiver (client) - In the case where the invoice's amount is more than R 3,000

* Date when the invoice will be issued

* Desciption of goods or services rendered

* The amount of goods or services rendered

* Must be in the South African currency, except for zero rated invoices
